Third sector and charity team training

Third sector organisations and charities interested in using Bridges self-management tools can access a bespoke and reduced price training package. The tools can be a useful resource during one-to-one and group sessions. However self-management support isn't just about the tools, and participants will be supported to consider the quality of their interactions with individuals and families.

What is the aim of team training?

  • To enable participants to integrate best practice in self-management support for people and families after brain injury or stroke.

Who is it suitable for?

  • Any third sector or charity worker or volunteer, who works on a one-to-one or group basis with individuals and families after stroke or brain injury, including their supervisors, coordinators and managers.

What are the potential benefits for our service users and their families?

  • Service users and families who feel supported to self-manage feel greater confidence and control over their condition and daily lives.  In turn this can bring about improvements in mood, functional ability, and perceived quality of life.
  • Read more about what services users think about our self-management tools.

How big can the group be?

  • Up to 20 participants per workshop.
  • Please contact us if you would like to accommodate more participants.

How is the training delivered?

  • Bridges is two stage training with an initial workshop (4 hours) and half day workshop (4 hours) approximately three months later.
  • The time in between workshops allows staff to implement the Bridges approach to self-management support and return to the follow-up workshop with practical experiences to critically reflect on. Staff will be guided to write a case reflection in time for the follow-up workshop.
  • Training is delivered at your place of work by a member of the Bridges team.

Access to unique self-management tools
